I have owned and cared for animals for most of my adult life. Mostly dogs and cats, but a few rabbits, fish, and other oddities here and there, including a raccoon and pigs recently (no snakes though).
Pets are my passion! I never had children of my own, so fur babies ARE my kids!
My five “kids” now include four precious Shih-tzus, all of which I name for Tennessee legends. My oldest is Dollie after Dolly Parton. Then, I have Porter for…you guessed it…Porter Waggoner. Their daughter, Taylor, is named after Taylor Swift, and my newest addition is Cash, named for Johnny Cash. I also have a 13-year-old cat named Tennley.
I started “Pooches and Purrs” after I got laid off from my full-time job in late 2022.
I decided to turn my passion for our four-legged friends into a new, much more fun, and rewarding career! With more than three decades of experience raising dogs of all ages and sizes as well as other animals, I understand the expectations of all pet parents and know, first-hand, the love we have for our babies.
That’s why I’ve dedicated my life to ensuring every animal is safe & happy! I’m always learning about new care techniques and pride myself on improving my skill set so that I can be the BEST pet-sitter in Ashland City, Pleasant View, Cheatham County, and surrounding areas.
Pooches & Purrs Pet-sitting is licensed and insured in Cheatham County. I am also USDA-registered for long-haul pet transports with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Additionally, I have passed a background check and recently completed Pet Safety Training as well as a Cat and Dog Transportation Safety Course. In other words, your fur baby is in good hands with me!
The transporter has passed our background check, which includes different levels of safety screenings, independently verified by Checkr. Read more about our background check process.Pet Safety Traine
I can’t wait to meet your new furry friends and look forward to helping as many pet parents as possible on this exciting journey!
